Did you know that the City of Chicago has a Department of Procurement Services? This department serves as the contracting, certification and compliance authority for Chicago.
Procurement can sometimes be difficult to understand, but the most important thing to know as a business owner is that the procurement process allows you to bid on different job opportunities. Many times these opportunities are set up like sub-contracting opportunities with sister agencies to the city of Chicago. This may mean that as a small business owner you would bid with other companies first and not the city directly.
Interested in seeing what bid opportunities may be available to your business? You can view a sampling of bid invites below. However, we recommend you register as a certified vendor with the city first, this is a great way to start. You can sign up through the City of Chicago website.
