The Greater Southwest Development Corporation was a service provider for Special Service Area (SSA) #59-2022. This localized tax district offers an array of services and resources to property and business owners located within the designated boundaries, supplementing those currently provided by the City. Each SSA has a commission of local property and business owners appointed by the mayor and working with the Sole Service Provider to create annual work plans and budgets.  Each SSA funds many projects and initiatives to support their business community and commercial corridor.

SSA-funded projects typically include but are not limited to:

  • Special events  

  • Beautification projects

  • District marketing and advertising

  • Rebate programs for local property and business owners

  • Training and development for business owners and entrepreneurs

  • Other commercial and economic development activities
